Returning Home

Every expedition eventually comes to an end.

Suitcases are packed.

Goodbyes are exchanged.

Flights depart.

Life slowly returns to its familiar rhythm.

But something remains.

A memory.

A lesson.

A conversation.

A sunrise.

A feeling that quietly accompanies us long after the journey itself has ended.

Perhaps that is what exploration has always been about.

Not escaping life.
